Broad Run Park Workshop
Join as we adventure into the Park Lands of Louisville - Broad Run Park just north of Mount Washington Kentucky.
We will start the workshop in the morning and photograph for a few hours at the Turkey Run Silo located within Broad Run Park. We will spend some time at the Brown-Forman Silo Center, photographing the area, along with walking some paths.
In this workshop, the focus will be capturing details in objects around the area along with bringing out creative shots from some of the plant life. We will venture to the pond nearby and get some shots of it along with the plant life there. We will also venture up into the silo, to get shots on the inside of it along with shots from the top.
We will get detailed shots of the metal and wood around the area to get creative artistic shots.
After finishing up there, we will drive to the Overlook (just past The Midway heading East on Broad Run Parkway) to do some photography from the lookout over a field. While there, we have the opportunity to photograph an electrical tower as well.
For this photography workshop, a DSLR with one or two lenses is required. A general zoom lens and a wide angle lens would be optimal. A tripod is recommended but not necessary. Make sure that you have batteries for about 3-4 hours of shooting time, and proper clothes for hiking around outside. Unless there is a severe storm or heavy rain, we will be out shooting. That is part of the fun; learning to adapt based on the conditions given. A rain date will be set TBD.
Since this is a one on one workshop, times can be adjusted. This is just a general outline of the plan.
Class price with this schedule is $75.
Creative Photography Workshop Beckley Creek Park
Join as we adventure into the Park Lands of Louisville - Beckley Creek Park just south east of the I-64 and I-265 junction.
Join this workshop to find your creative eye and photograph objects in motion, or make stationary objects move. This workshop is strictly to find some creativity in yourself and see things differently. This is a quick little workshop for you to get out and have a little creative and artistic fun with your photography. In this workshop we will photograph from three locations at the park.
Location 1:
As approaching the I-64 overpass, we will photograph the trees around the area. Here will will mess with the concept of moving our lenses, adjusting the zoom as the camera is going off to capture in motion zooms of the trees.
Location 2:
Underneath the I-64 overpass, we will photograph the street lamps. While doing so we will mess with the camera to get light trails of the street lamps. We will do this for a bit to get some different shapes.
Location 3:
We will walk just north of the I-64 overpass, on to the bridge over the creek, and photograph trucks as they drive past. This specifically will be similar to panning photography, but a few steps further since we are not trying to get the trucks passing by perfectly focused. Here we are going for almost focused with some slight blur, along with the trees in the foreground to create an interesting scene in motion.
For this photography workshop, a DSLR with one zoom lens is required. Something with at least 50mm of zoom or more would work best. A tripod would be useful for this workshop only if it has a ball head. Make sure that you have batteries for about 2 hours of shooting time, and proper clothes for hiking around outside. Unless there is a severe storm or heavy rain, we will be out shooting. That is part of the fun; learning to adapt based on the conditions given. A rain date will be set TBD.
Since this is a one on one workshop, times can be adjusted. This is just a general outline of the plan.
Price with this schedule and plan is $50.
